About Club de Paris

What is the Paris Club?

The Paris Club is an informal group of official creditors whose role is to find coordinated and sustainable solutions for the payment difficulties experienced by debtor countries. The creditors of the Paris Club provide debt treatments to debtor countries in the form of debt restructuring, which is the relief of debt through deferral or, in the case of concessional restructuring, reduction of debt service obligations during a defined period (flow treatment) or at a specific date (stock treatment).

How the Paris Club Works

Since 1956, the debt treated under the framework of the Paris Club agreements has amounted to $58.8 billion.
