What is a Savings and Credit Cooperative?
A savings and credit cooperative is an autonomous non-profit association created by a group of people who voluntarily come together, whose main objective is to provide financial services in the benefit of its members. For this purpose, they can make deposits for savings, fixed-term deposits and access loans at reasonable rates, as well as meet their social and cultural needs, always considering the principles and values of cooperatives accepted worldwide and respecting legal provisions.Who We Are
We are a closed Savings and Credit Cooperative, registered in the National Register of Coopac under the Nº 0041-2019-REG.COOPAC-SBS, regulated by the Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and AFP and supervised by the Assistant Superintendence of Cooperatives. We do not collect resources from the public, only from our members. Our products and services are subject to admission, evaluation and approval. Restrictions apply. Members can access information about rates, commissions, expenses and characteristics of products and services in our offices.Services

Requirements to become a member
- To be a member of the Okinawense Association of Peru or a member of institutions affiliated with the Okinawense Association of Peru.
- To be over 18 years old.
- To bring 1 photo of passport size.
- To fill out the registration form.
- To provide original and copy of DNI.
- To present a service receipt (Light, water, phone or cell phone).
- Registration payment: S/.20.00.
- Initial contribution: S/. 30.00.
- Monthly contribution: S/. 10.00.
Contributions
The contribution is the individual capital of each member, which, when summed, constitute the social capital of the Cooperative. Through contributions, AOPCOOP achieves to benefit all its members, offering loans with low interest rates, savings with the highest rates and many other benefits. Members who are up to date with their contributions can request or guarantee loans, in addition, according to the amount of their contributions, the member can obtain loans with preferential rates.History
In September of 1998, the president of the Okinawense Association of Peru, Mr. Enrique Mayeshiro Gushiken, along with other outstanding directors, had the idea of creating a Savings and Credit Cooperative that would help its members overcome their economic difficulties, thus our Cooperative AOPCOOP was born.
