Who we are and what we do?

The Peruvian Association of Industrial Property and Copyright (APPI) is a non-profit civil association grouping professionals dedicated to activities related to intellectual property.

Objectives

  • Establish ethical standards and appropriate professional practices for its members, monitoring their compliance.
  • Represent members before national and international intellectual property associations and organizations.
  • Represent members before government authorities.
  • Collaborate with the Peruvian State in representing the country before international organizations.
  • Propose or sponsor appropriate legislation on intellectual property through the drafting of normative projects and advising the Peruvian State powers and international organizations.
  • Encourage or conduct research contests, publication of studies, monographs, theses, journals or books on intellectual property.
  • Encourage or conduct seminars, workshops, conferences or talks on intellectual property.
  • Establish and direct national groups corresponding to international intellectual property associations based on the members who wish to belong to them and organize for such purposes.
  • Collaborate and maintain communication with intellectual property associations at the international level.

Activities

  • Representation of members before international organizations.
