Introduction

The Peruvian Association of Medical Schools (ASPEFAM), founded on January 11th, 1964, is the representative institution of the medical schools in Peru. Currently, it is composed of 30 schools. ASPEFAM is recognized by the Peruvian State as an advisory institution for the Health Sector on medical education topics. It is a member of the National Council of Medical Residency - CONAREME, the National Committee of Health Undergraduate Studies, and participates in various instances within the Peruvian Medical College and National-Level Committees.

Objectives

In the context of these objectives, ASPEFAM has been promoting the process of self-evaluation and accreditation, and the development of a quality culture in Peru, promoting the Medical Libraries Consortium as a cooperation strategy, organizing the National Medical Exam annually, and developing other important initiatives in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
