Who we are

Cerro Verde Union is a union organization committed to defending the labor rights of mining workers. It has more than 1,540 members.

Mission

To defend and promote workers' labor rights and benefits, encourage union membership, create dialogue forums for collective bargaining, and achieve an optimal work environment with fair wages and well-being based on mutual respect.

Vision

To achieve union unity as a single front and be an organization recognized by Arequipa society for its responsibility and commitment to defending the human and labor rights of mining workers.

Union objectives

  • Promote the achievement of social and economic demands for a dignified life.
  • Seek closer ties between employer and workers with justice and respect.
  • Negotiate and sign collective agreements and demand their compliance.
  • Promote the technical, cultural, and general education of members.
  • Provide assistance in the event of illness, disability, or unjustified dismissal.
  • Establish relationships with other national and international union organizations.

Recent announcements

The union has published statements about forced execution, the 2024-2028 collective agreement, and other topics of interest to members. It also delivers jackets and backpacks to its members.
