Ketron: arranger keyboards and electronic instruments from Ancona

Ketron S.r.l. is an Italian company based in Ancona that designs and produces electronic musical instruments aimed at solo performers and enthusiasts. Active since 1981, the firm frames its output around a single ambition stated on its site: combining advanced technology with the most natural musical sound possible. Its catalogue spans four main families — keyboards, sound modules, digital accordions and amplification — supported by accessories, spare parts, styles and sounds.

The EVENT arranger series

The centrepiece of the keyboard range is the EVENT line, presented as the company's most innovative arranger family. The EVENT arranger is built to give access to a style architecture described as the most sophisticated developed for an arranger keyboard, with more than 400 styles available. The range includes several models:

• EVENT 61: an electronic keyboard conceived to reproduce the experience of playing with a full band of real musicians.
• EVENT CHROM: a full-audio arranger that the company presents as a technological revolution in the sector.
• GLOBE: described as the best synthesis of the EVENT series, a flagship in sounds, styles and functions housed in a compact 61-key format.
• FUSION: another electronic keyboard within the same innovative line.

Compact sound modules

Ketron also offers a range of sound modules for musicians who need arranger functions in a smaller format. The EVENT X module packs the same sounds, Real Styles and functions as the keyboard into a compact unit. The EVM PLUS is a professional sound and arranger module that concentrates a large number of functions in a small box. The EVM is positioned as a portable device capable of replacing an arranger keyboard in live performance, while the EVS is described as a versatile, pocket-sized professional sound module.

Digital accordions and amplification

The digital accordion range comprises two models: the P37, a piano-type digital accordion, and the B46, a button-type digital accordion. Amplification is covered by the Solton line, which completes the instrument offering for performers.

Support, distribution and service

Alongside the instruments, the company maintains a structure for spare parts, styles and sounds, as well as software downloads and upgrades. Its site also lists distributors, shops and an assistance and service section, indicating a network through which the instruments reach musicians.
