Covers fitted to dinghy classes

KNOTS12 makes protective covers for three sailing dinghy classes: Optimist, Zoom8 and ILCA 7. Its catalogue separates top covers, bottom or transport covers, padded centreboard covers and gear bags. This distinction matters because a cover for storing a boat on land may not be designed for the same use as one intended for transport. The company describes its products as lightweight and breathable and says they are made in Estonia. A buyer should select the exact boat class and check the intended use of the cover before comparing colours or price.

Protection during storage and travel

A fitted top cover helps shield the hull and cockpit while the boat is not in use. Bottom and transport covers can protect surfaces that are exposed to abrasion when moving or storing a dinghy. Padded centreboard covers serve a different purpose: they protect a removable component separately from the hull. The product range includes marine and light-silver finishes, and some listings refer to UV protection. The technical details and fastening method should be checked on the individual listing, particularly if the boat has non-standard fittings.

Personalisation and gear bags

KNOTS12 offers personalisation such as a sailing-club logo, a sailor’s name or another approved design. That can help identify equipment at a crowded club or regatta. The site also sells bags for sailing gear. Custom work may involve artwork files, an additional charge and a longer lead time, so a buyer should agree the layout and production schedule before ordering for an event. A child or club moving between Optimist and Zoom8 boats should not assume that one cover will fit both classes.

Orders and company contact

The website has FAQ, warranty, liability, returns and contact pages. Stock status differs across its product lines, with some items shown as sold out, so availability should be checked before planning a trip or shipment around an order. KNOTS12 gives its address as Tornimäe 7-117, Tallinn 10145, Estonia, and lists info@knots12.com for enquiries. A useful message states the boat class, the particular cover or bag required and whether personalisation is wanted. The site also provides Facebook and YouTube channels.
