History

La Hacienda started as a food truck, then became a small taqueria, and finally the current restaurant. It was founded by José Callejas and his wife María Salgado, who arrived in East Boston from Texas in the early 1990s, seeing the need for authentic Mexican and Salvadoran cuisine options in the community.
