Mazapán Santo Tomé

Mazapán Santo Tomé is one of the great names of Toledo marzipan: it has made artisanal marzipan since 1856 and is an almost obligatory stop to taste and buy this almond sweet. Its historic-district shop is on Calle de Santo Tomé, steps from the church that holds El Greco's Burial of the Count of Orgaz.

Its case gathers the classic Toledan marzipan shapes —figurines, the signature filled 'anguila' (eel), marquesas and delicias— made in the traditional way. It is the best-known reference for visitors seeking the city's marzipan by name.
