Confitería El Alcázar

Confitería El Alcázar is one of Segovia's historic sweet houses, right on the Plaza Mayor. It has operated since 1926 and holds the registered trademark Ponche Segoviano®, the city's most typical cake: sponge with cream, covered in marzipan and finished with toasted sugar in a diamond pattern.

Its specialty is precisely that ponche, to eat in or buy to take away, with shipping available. It is a natural stop on the square to approach Segovia's signature sweet.
