House of Cards

House of Cards, a Western Canadian trading card retailer

House of Cards presents itself as Western Canada's source for trading cards and related tabletop products. Its catalogue is built around collectible card games and miniatures games, with a strong emphasis on Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon, which the store describes as its specialties. Alongside those two lines, the shop lists Disney Lorcana, Warhammer, board games, Dungeons & Dragons and sports cards.

The store also states that it buys collections, a service aimed at players and collectors looking to sell or liquidate their cards. Its inventory is presented as including a large selection of high-end and vintage cards as well as competitive staples.

Magic: The Gathering assortment

Magic occupies the broadest section of the catalogue. Sealed product is organized by set and format, covering booster packs, booster boxes, bundles, preconstructed decks and tokens, with dedicated listings for recent and upcoming releases such as Reality Fracture, The Hobbit, Marvel Super Heroes, Secrets of Strixhaven, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Lorwyn Eclipsed, Avatar The Last Airbender and Marvel's Spider-Man.

Beyond sealed product, the store maintains Magic singles with an advanced search tool. Its featured listings at the time of writing included showcase and borderless cards from Reality Fracture, The Hobbit and Marvel Super Heroes, with individual prices reaching several hundred Canadian dollars for the most sought-after treatments.

High-end foils and vintage rarities

Two sections are dedicated to premium collectibles. The high-end foils area groups promotional and special printings such as Kaladesh Inventions, Amonkhet Invocations, judge gift cards and box toppers. The vintage and rarities section concentrates older and scarce cards, including reserved-list staples and early-set dual lands, with listed prices running into the thousands of Canadian dollars for the top items.

The Secret Lair Drop Series also has its own section, covering alternate-art and foil treatments of popular cards.

Pokémon, Lorcana and other card games

The Pokémon range includes singles with an advanced search, sealed product organized by expansion, graded cards, tins and box sets, and booster boxes and packs of foreign-language editions. Recent set listings include the Mega Evolution line and the Scarlet & Violet expansions Black Bolt, White Flare, Destined Rivals, Journey Together, Prismatic Evolutions, Surging Sparks and Stellar Crown.

Among other card games, the store carries Disney Lorcana in sealed product and singles, plus sealed product and singles for Star Wars: Unlimited, and sealed product for One Piece Card Game, Gundam Card Game and Riftbound.

Board games, role-playing and miniatures

The non-collectible side of the catalogue covers board games and Dungeons & Dragons material, split between sourcebooks and adventures on one hand and miniatures on the other. Warhammer is represented across three game systems: Age of Sigmar, 40,000 and The Old World.

Accessories and apparel

The store stocks a range of gaming accessories, including binders and portfolios, card cases and deck boxes, playmats, sleeves and wall scrolls, as well as Citadel paints and Warhammer painting supplies. It also sells its own apparel, with tie-dye T-shirts and a hooded sweatshirt listed.

Buying collections and store events

Collection buying is presented as one of the shop's core activities alongside retail. The site also maintains an events section and a deckbuilder buylist, through which players can submit card lists.
