BatteryClerk Canada: AJC replacement batteries sold online

BatteryClerk Canada is an online battery store specialising in AJC-branded replacement batteries for commercial and domestic use. The company presents itself as Canada's leading online battery store and says it stocks a broad selection of premium batteries at what it describes as some of the lowest prices in the industry. Its catalogue is organised by application rather than by chemistry alone, covering sealed lead-acid (SLA) batteries, powersports batteries and a further group of specialist batteries.

The company's president is Aric Shelko. According to the company's own account, the business began in 2010 when Shelko, dissatisfied with the price and quality of replacement batteries then available, looked for a better option; after testing and exploration, the AJC brand was established and batteries were sold through BatteryClerk.com. BatteryClerk has since expanded to several international locations, including Canada, Mexico, the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France and Germany.

Sealed lead-acid and backup power batteries

The SLA range is built around AJC sealed lead-acid batteries and includes several application-specific lines:

• UPS batteries, including APC RBC UPS batteries
• Alarm batteries
• Mobility scooter batteries
• Wheelchair batteries
• Emergency light batteries

These products target backup and standby power uses, from uninterruptible power supplies to security systems and mobility equipment.

Powersports batteries by vehicle type

A second major block of the catalogue covers powersports applications under the AJC brand, with batteries listed separately for motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles and personal watercraft. The store's own editorial content notes that nearly every powersports vehicle uses a 12-volt AGM starting battery, and that these batteries live a harder life than almost any other kind. Seasonal prompts on the site direct snowmobile owners to check their battery before the season and ATV and UTV users to replacement batteries for off-road use.

Other replacement battery categories

Beyond SLA and powersports, BatteryClerk lists a further set of replacement batteries for everyday equipment:

• Lawn mower and tractor batteries
• Garage door batteries
• Ride-on toy batteries
• Generator batteries
• Electric scooter batteries
• Two-way radio batteries
• Vacuum batteries
• Scooter and moped batteries
• Jump starter batteries

The site also publishes guidance content, including a guide to buying and replacing alarm system batteries, which notes that the battery or backup battery is often a point of failure in a home alarm system.

Wholesale programme and volume discounts

BatteryClerk operates a wholesale battery distribution programme aimed at bulk buyers. The company says the programme is tailored to individual requirements and that volume discounts are available to qualified buyers who purchase batteries and accessories. It presents the scheme as suitable for businesses, schools, government departments and other organisations. The company also states that its replacement battery experts are available to help customers choose the correct battery.

Ordering, shipping and support

Orders over $129 qualify for free shipping, and a BatteryClerk Prime service advertises fast 1–2 day shipping to most of Canada. The site lists a range of support resources, including a help centre, FAQs, tutorials and guides, case studies, videos, a coupon section, a quote request form, shipping and returns information and a battery recycling section. Payment options displayed include American Express, Apple Pay, Diners Club, Discover, Google Pay, Mastercard, PayPal, Shop Pay and Visa. The store runs on Shopify.

Customer testimonials published on the site describe quick and easy ordering, competitive pricing and fast delivery, and successful replacement of original batteries and UPS units. The company also publishes a blog, with recent posts by Aric Shelko covering alarm battery replacement, the reasons behind AJC battery pricing and the replacement of powersports batteries.
