About Home Hardware
Home Hardware, a dealer-owned Canadian home improvement retailer
Home Hardware presents itself as Canada's largest dealer-owned and operated home improvement retailer, a position it links to more than 60 years of serving repairs and renovations. Its catalogue covers around 100,000 different items, spanning categories such as tools and accessories, outdoor power equipment, bath, kitchen, lawn and garden, BBQs and outdoor cooking, paint, lighting, canning and preserving products, sheds and seasonal decorations.
The company operates through a network of stores that includes Home Hardware, Home Building Centre and Home Hardware Building Centre locations in Canada, and it also sells online through its own site. Orders placed online can be shipped free to the customer's closest Home store when they qualify.
BeautiTone, the in-house paint brand
BeautiTone paint has been produced by BeautiTone Paint and Home Products since 1980 and is described as Canada's number one Canadian-owned and Canadian-made retail paint brand. The manufacturing plant and laboratory are located in South Western Ontario, and the company describes the facility as one of the most modern paint manufacturing operations in North America, with a high level of automation.
The plant produces a full range of water-based and solvent-based paint formulations, along with aerosols and cleaning products, including the Natura line. All products are exclusive to Home Hardware and are developed in the company's own research and development laboratory, where fifteen chemists and quality control technicians work with computerized colour matching and formulating programs. Each batch is checked twice, during production and after packaging, and any product that fails to meet quality standards is rejected.
BeautiTone sits within a family of paint lines that also includes Designer, Signature, Pure, Wood Shield and Pro Paint, all available exclusively at the more than 1,000 Home stores across Canada. The brand has announced Rosewater as its 2027 Colour of the Year, described as a delicate, luminous pink with soft yellow undertones, and Bark as its 2026 Exterior Colour of the Year, a warm earthy brown.
