Custom Frames Canada

Made-to-order solid wood framing from Custom Frames Canada

Custom Frames Canada is an online framing business that builds picture frames to the customer's own dimensions. Its catalogue is organised around solid wood mouldings, and the company states that it carries over 1,800 premium styles, with new frames added regularly. Orders are placed through the website, which also stocks framing accessories and offers a bulk-order channel alongside a guide aimed at framers.

How the frame catalogue is organised

The collection is structured so that a buyer can narrow the range by the visual and technical characteristics of the moulding rather than by product name. Three main filters appear on the site:

• By finish: Black / Ebony, White / Ivory, Mahogany / Cherry, Maple / Blonde, Espresso / Chocolate, Gold, Walnut / Oak, Silver / Pewter, Bronze / Copper, plus a newer Color Spectrum line.
• By width: from 1" and less up to 3 5/8" and greater, in seven bands.
• By rabbet depth: 3/8" and less, 1/2" to 7/8", 1" to 1 3/8", and 1 1/2" and greater.

Beyond the general catalogue, the site groups several specialised product families: floater frames, linen liners, stretcher bars and gallery frames. It also lists jigsaw puzzle frames, large picture frames and poster frames among its collections.

Floater frames and canvas presentation

Floater frames form a distinct category in the catalogue, aimed at canvases and similar works that sit inside the frame rather than being overlapped by it. The company publishes a buying guide on canvas floater frames, describing the style as one of the more elegant framing options and covering the terminology customers use when searching for it, including floating frame, floater frame, floating wood frame and canvas floater frame.

Accessories, glazing and backing

Alongside mouldings, the shop sells framing components. These include plexiglass and foamboard, offered both as separate materials and as combined plexiglass/foamboard packages, as well as hardware and accessories. The catalogue also has an A La Carte section for individual items. This means a customer can source the frame and the protective glazing and backing in the same order.

Bulk orders and trade support

Two entries in the site menu address professional and volume buyers: a bulk orders section and a framers guide. The latter is presented as a resource for people working in framing, while the bulk channel sits apart from the standard retail catalogue. The company also maintains a blog with articles on custom framing topics, including a guide to custom picture frames for Toronto homes, offices and artists, and a French-language guide to the advantages of made-to-measure framing.

Ordering online and current promotions

Frames are configured to the customer's dimensions and purchased through the website's cart. At the time of writing this profile, the site displayed a promotion of 50% off all custom frames together with free shipping on orders over $150, using the code 'FFC26'. The same page advertised delivery of made-to-order frames to the Greater Toronto Area. Payment marks shown on the site include major card schemes, PayPal, Stripe, Apple Pay and several cryptocurrency options.
