Coffee Addicts: espresso equipment and supplies for cafés and home baristas

Coffee Addicts is a Canadian retailer focused on coffee and espresso equipment, parts, accessories and tools. Its catalogue is aimed both at coffee shops and at home enthusiasts, including aspiring baristas. The company presents itself as a one-stop shop for café owners and espresso enthusiasts, and its online store is organised around equipment, spare parts, barista tools, cleaning supplies, filters, drinkware and coffee beans.

Espresso machines and grinders

The equipment section covers espresso machines in several categories: single boiler, heat exchanger (HX), dual boiler, lever, super automatic and all-in-one. Machines are also grouped by price bands: under $2,000, $2,000 to $3,500 and over $3,500. The grinder range includes single-dose, espresso, brewed coffee, multi-purpose and hand grinders, with dosing organised by time and by weight, plus price brackets under $750 and over $750.

Brewing gear extends beyond espresso: cold brew, electric brewers, kettles, moka pots, pour-over, press brewers and syphons. A separate commercial equipment section lists espresso machines, grinders, rinsers and knock boxes for professional use.

Parts, tools and maintenance

A significant part of the offer is spare parts. The catalogue groups them by type — burrs, elements, fittings, gaskets, head gaskets, O-rings, portafilters, portafilter baskets, pressure gauges, pumps, thermostats, screws, bolts and nuts, shower screens and solenoids — and by machine brand, including Ascaso, Expobar, Faema, Gaggia, La Marzocco, La Pavoni, Lelit, Nuova Simonelli, Profitec, Rancilio and Rocket. Grinder parts are listed for Baratza, Compak, DF Grinders, Eureka, Fetco, Fiorenzato, Mazzer, Nuova Simonelli and Rancilio, among others.

Barista tools include cupping tools, distribution tools, WDT and puck screens, knock boxes, portafilters, baskets, rinsers, scales and timers, servers, steaming pitchers and thermometers, storage and tamping tools. Cleaning supplies cover brushes, backflush disks, descaler, espresso cleaner, grinder cleaner, milk cleaner, organic cleaners and towels. The filter range includes Aeropress, Chemex, cold brew, drip, pour-over, reusable and syphon filters, as well as water treatment.

Coffee, syrups and other beverages

The store also sells coffee beans, organised by roast level (light, medium and dark) and by flavour profile: fruity, floral, chocolatey and nutty, bright and citrusy, balanced, and earthy and bold. It offers a coffee subscription and a Coffee Bean Adventure Box, as well as discounted coffee. Beyond coffee, the catalogue includes syrups, sugar-free syrups, sauces, purees, smoothie mixes, teas and beverages such as Blume Tea, chai, matcha, concentrates and Oatly.

Classes and servicing

Coffee Addicts runs in-store coffee classes: learning to use an espresso machine, perfect pour-over and private group classes. The website also offers a service to book an espresso machine or grinder for preventive maintenance or repair. A wholesale account application is available for businesses.

Brands and customer feedback

The shop-by-brand section lists dozens of manufacturers, from 1Zpresso, Acaia, Aeropress and Baratza to Breville, Chemex, Fellow, Hario, La Marzocco, Lelit, Mazzer, Profitec, Rancilio, Rocket Espresso and Urnex, among many others. The site describes Breville as "Canada's #1 Selling Brand of Espresso Machines".

The website displays customer testimonials with five-star ratings. One mentions an espresso-making class guided by Bryce and describes the staff as knowledgeable and personable; another highlights technical advice before an online order and the quality of the parts received; a third refers to a machine service that left the equipment working better than before. These are individual comments available on the site at the time of writing this profile.

Shipping and promotions

The store advertised free shipping anywhere in Canada on orders over $75, and a 10% discount on a regularly priced grinder with the purchase of an espresso machine, applied at checkout. It also offers gift cards.
