Información sobre Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding

Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding operates from Houses 26 and 47 in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood under the motto “Open Doors. Open Minds.” It is not an ordinary restaurant: its meals are guided cultural programs intended to let visitors eat traditional food while asking direct questions about Emirati life, religion and customs.

Scheduled experiences include breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea-time and dinner on selected days. Guests commonly sit in a traditional setting and share dishes while a cultural presenter leads the conversation. Programs, days and prices change, and advance booking is required for the experience selected.

The center is particularly valuable for business visitors who want cultural context beyond etiquette slogans. It can explain why schedules shift during Ramadan, how hospitality works and how to approach unfamiliar customs without turning the encounter into a performance.
