Bacira

A Castillo Street restaurant bringing Mediterranean, Japanese and Nikkei cooking together through sharing dishes and two tasting menus.

About Bacira

Bacira is the shared project of Carlos Langreo, Vicente de la Red and Gabriel Zapata. Their Mediterranean, Japanese and Nikkei specialties explain a kitchen that moves between traditions rather than committing to just one. On Calle del Castillo in Trafalgar, the restaurant reveals another side of Chamberí: neighborhood dining also makes room for flavors from much further away.

The cooking pairs familiar Spanish ingredients with seaweed, ginger and other Asian accents. The menu changes with the seasons, and several dishes come in half portions. Two tasting menus provide a structured route through the kitchen, while ordering à la carte gives diners more freedom to match the meal to their appetites and preferences.

Iron columns and vintage-style décor give the informal dining room its character, without the formality of a grand special-occasion restaurant. Sharing dishes encourages everyone to compare different combinations. It is a particularly appealing address for curious couples or friends who want variety within one meal rather than having to choose exclusively between Spanish and Japanese cooking.
