Katsuyoshi Nihonbashi Ningyocho

A Ningyocho tonkatsu specialist with a small counter, visible cooking and Bib Gourmand recognition.

About Katsuyoshi Nihonbashi Ningyocho

Katsuyoshi serves tonkatsu—breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet—in a small renovated house down a side street in Ningyocho. Reclaimed wood gives the interior a traditional feel. Seating is intimate: six counter seats on the ground floor and twelve table seats upstairs.

Careful frying is central to the cooking. The chef uses two copper pots and different oil temperatures to suit each preparation; counter seats offer a view of the meat being prepared. Fried scallops and tiger prawns provide alternatives for seafood lovers or something different to share alongside the pork.

Pork portions come in several sizes, so appetite and the chosen cut help determine the bill. Rice and miso soup are charged separately: compare the cost of the whole meal rather than the main item alone. The restaurant is a one-minute walk from exit A5 of Ningyocho Station, making it an easy stop while exploring the neighbourhood.
