Chukasoba Uemachi
A Bib Gourmand ramen shop in Uemachi, serving house-made noodles and broth combining a meat base with dried fish.
About Chukasoba Uemachi
Chukasoba Uemachi connects to its neighbourhood from the entrance. The calligraphy on its noren curtain pays tribute to Ohtsuki Noh Theatre and the area's cultural traditions. This small counter restaurant offers a visit focused on a bowl of noodles, away from the more obvious Dotonbori food circuit.
The broth combines a meat base with dried fish, including sardines, and the noodles are kneaded in-house. The interest lies in how the two meet: depth in the broth and noodles with a character of their own. Tasting a little broth first, then the noodles, is a useful way to appreciate that relationship.
It is around four minutes on foot from Exit 7 of Tanimachi 6-chome Station. The format works for solo diners or a food stop during a walk through Uemachi. Service can finish when supplies run out, and payment is cash only. Leave some flexibility rather than making it the last possible stop of the day.
